Meet Dr. Gonzalez
Q: Why did you decide to become a dentist?
A: I became a dentist mostly for the lifestyle it provides, I wanted to be in the medical field but also have enough time to do the things outside of work I like doing and dentistry provides that really well. Along the way though there's something nice about changing someone's smile for the better or getting them out of pain.
Q: Did you have a favorite dentist when you were a kid?
A: My favorite dentist as a kid was my orthodontist but not for any dental reasons. He had a really cool street fighter arcade game in his lobby and my parents didn't buy us many games so every visit to get my braces adjusted I got to play street fighter. To answer what you may be thinking, I was never any good. I've tried playing recently and I'm still pretty bad at the game but I have a lot of fun.
Q: If you could be a tooth, which one would you be?
A: If I could be a tooth I'd be a wisdom tooth, then I'd be the smartest tooth in the mouth!
Q: What is your favorite flavor of toothpaste?
A. Well I use mostly mint toothpaste but to be honest if they made more flavors I would really like vanilla cupcake flavor. I have a mean sweet tooth and that would just be pleasant to brush my teeth with every day.
Q: If you could live anywhere, where would it be?
A. If I could live anywhere it would still be Southern Oregon! Me and my wife have moved around quite a bit and finally settled here because of the close proximity to mountains, ocean, good weather and sunshine!
Q: If you could be the dentist to any famous person, who would it be?
A: If I could be a dentist to any famous person it would be Mike Tyson, being a boxer he needed a lot of work and he always does cool things with his teeth.
Q: Do you have a favorite childhood toy?
A: When I was a kid my favorite toy was a green machine trike. You could pedal so fast and do big drift turns around the neighborhood.
Q: Where did you grow up?
A: I grew up in Merritt Island, Florida which is by Cape Canaveral where the space shuttle launches from. It's on the coast of Florida 1 hr east of Orlando.
Q: Mountains or beaches?
A: Mountains for sure, I grew up with beaches and moved to the mountains.
